I'm listening to the soundtrack of Return of the King (Lord of the Rings). Brings back fond memories of December 2003. Going to the theatrical premiere of RotK was an experience I'll never forget. Firstly, it's a movie you just have to see on a big screen. Secondly, it was awesome to watch it with 100 other fans, who also had been waiting for the same movie for two years. 2003 was a great year, and sometimes I wish I could go back and re-live it.

Right now I'm waiting for two new movies: Saw III and Hostel II. Slightly different genres than LotR. ^^

And the second season of Lost will be released on DVD next week!! But I also have an appointment to the dentist, so that spoils the excitement a bit. I hate dentists. They are evil. By the way, it's funny how we say "I hate going to the dentist", when in fact we mean "I fear going to the dentist". Hate does spring from fear, I guess.

I'm so sorry I haven't been updating! I suck at writing in journals, and I have two. (The other one's in Finnish.)

Not much happening in my life. School, movies, books, being lazy. And I think I know what I want to do when I grow up. (Wait, that's already happened, but whatever.) I want to work with airplanes. Cleaning them, flying them, repairing them, I don't care. As long as I get to be at an airport. ♥

Can't think of anything else to write of for now, so...

(God, it's hard to write in English. :P )

Continuing with the V For Vendetta theme... I'm listening to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, or the classical music played at the end of this movie. It always touches me, because it's so magnificent, beautiful and sad. When Evey says: "He was Edmond Dantés... and he was my father. And my mother... my brother... my friend. He was you... and me. He was all of us." It always brings tears to my eyes, I can't help it. :)
It's truly one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I love South Park. I watched two episodes yesterday, "The Death Camp of Tolerance" and "A Ladder to Heaven", and laughed my ass off.

I bought V For Vendetta on DVD yesterday. I watched it, and was instantly hooked. I loved everything about that movie, and it stirred something inside of me. A thought: "Wait, this could really happen. Or is it already happening...?" Some of the things seemed so familiar (i.e. gaining power and controlling by scaring the people), because that's what USA did after 9/11. It has also happened here in Finland. Last winter the news were full of panicked reports of the avian flu, which would arrive to Europe and kill all birds and probably a good portion of the population too. Of course, none of this happened. There hasn't been a single report of avian flu here. (Sweden, Denmark and Germany had a couple of birds that died from the H5N1 virus, but nothing more.) They were even talking about banning the winter feeding of birds.
Remember SARS back in 2002? Same hysteria, same outcome.

(And as a last note, John Hurt as Chancellor Sutler rocked.)

I had the weirdest dream last night. It was a bit unpleasant, too. It involved my high-school teacher and two movies of Titanic - one about the sinking of the ship, and the other of the tsunami wave(!) that sunk it. I don't remember much of the dream, but I woke up thinking "Wtf?". Sometimes I wonder how my brain comes up with all this stuff.

----

I used to love the reality show "Fear". A group of people were put in a haunted building, and they had to complete different tasks, which often had something to do with the "ghosts" that dwelled there. "Reality show" might not be a completely appropriate name for it, since some of the things seemed made up. But I didn't (don't) really care. It was good entertainment.

Drawing Yinepu, Bast and Djehuty (or Heru, I've not made up my mind yet) as Pokémon. That's my next project. :>

I've been feeling nostalgic today. It's now three years since I entered the world of blogging, and it feels so long ago. I started at Blurty in July 2003, then moved to Greatestjournal in September, and then to LJ when you could create an account without an invitation.
The year 2003 was in some ways the best year in my life so far. I had great friends in school, and many awesome things happened that year (the release of the fifth Harry Potter book, premiere for LotR - Return of the King). Sometimes I really wish I could go back and re-live that year.

My interest in Harry Potter has also been rejuvenated. Yesterday I started reading The Prisoner of Azkaban, and it was like meeting an old friend. I have a strong urge to draw HP fanart, and it's almost too strong to bear. (Yeah, I'm one of those crazy Harry Potter geeks.)

This nostalgia I'm feeling now is so strong it nearly hurts.

Anyway, welcome to my new blog. :)
